The A.B.C (Arts Beyond Classroom) Assembly Show Series offers engaging, educational and exciting presentations packed with nuggets of interesting music and dance messages displayed through an inspiring and interactive show to engage students of all levels.

The Series - All Strings attached

Explore the wonderful world of strings as we introduce a variety of string instruments to you. From Western to Chinese ethnic instruments, be amazed by the creative combinations of different instruments of the string family, including Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Ukulele, Guzheng, Yangqin, Pipa, Ruan, Erhu and more – which are all from the same family but played in different ways.
You will get to hear and appreciate the different sounds of each instrument, and learn how some of these instruments come together to make beautiful music through live performances.

The Series - The Music Scene Investigator

Take on the role of a detective and be taken on an exciting journey into different genres of music in an “investigative” manner by looking back into Western Classical Music through the lens of today, and discover more about its influence and relevance in today’s music. You will be introduced to popular classical pieces written by different composers from Baroque, Classical and Romantic Period, and be intrigued and astounded by the different ways the same piece is made popular by present composers, through the use of music technology.  Through live performances, visual and audio "clues", you will uncover and solve a “mystery” through sniffing out music motifs, identifying musical styles/arrangements and more. This exciting show not only aims to instil the love for music in the young generation but also reveals the underlying secrets of composition through improvisation and creativity in music arrangements. The Series - Drum Raider

Take on an adventure to different parts of the world to discover the unique cultural instruments and unique rhythms of that culture. As little Drum Raiders, you are set on a mission to discover and explore Samba, African, Bhangra, Chinese, Middle Eastern rhythms. Using a story-telling approach, be fully engaged through purposeful play to develop a keen awareness of rhythm and beat. You will also acquire musical knowledge about the history and origin of the instruments, expand your creative horizon through drumming various rhythms around the world together with our professional musicians.
