Music Maxima! offers bite-size modular music courses comprising of a myriad of quick jump-start modules for those who like to gain an appreciation of music through learning how to play an instrument, or having fun making music as an ensemble.
Rhythm Mania
Rhythm Mania is a fun rhythmic experience that will leave you grooving to the beat. Rhythm is a language that unites the community and is a channel of communication that gives life and energy to the mind and soul. In Rhythm Mania, authentic instruments are used, examples include local ethnic percussions, exotic world percussions, Brazilian percussion and even household items are used as percussion instruments for rhythm making. Creativity is also harnessed through platforms such as improvisation and music arrangements and composition.
You will be taught using a combination of formal and non-formal teaching and learning approaches in a learner-centered environment. ICT will also be incorporated where appropriate to make learning fun and engaging.
Guitar Around The World
Guitar Around The World aims to give an overview of the three main styles of music created on the guitar from its beginnings in Spain until today. It will also show how you can use their different approaches in playing the guitar to give popular songs a different mood and feel. An intuitive approach is used to encourage fusion and creativity in music. By learning from different musical styles, you will develop better global awareness and appreciation of the musical art form.
Ukulele Around The World
This module aims to encourage you to pick up an instrument skill by way of the ukulele. Born in Hawaii, the ukulele has gained a huge surge in popularity in recent years among young and old due to its no n-intimidating nature and portability. A tiny instrument with a happy cheerful tone that never fails to put a smile on anyone’s face upon hearing it! Ukelele Around the World is designed with just a few simple chords you will immediately be able to sing a huge repertoire of songs from around the globe!
Music For Moving Images
Music for Moving Images is a programme that combines music and media in one as it takes you behind the scenes into understanding the entire process of music production. You will be led to discover and learn how to produce a music soundtrack, incorporate sound effects, hooks and even own composition appropriately to enhance the meaning represented by images or video.
Writing Hooks & Tunes
Writing Hooks and Tunes! is an introductory song-writing programme to encourage you to pick up basic song-writing and arrangement skills using technology. Using the iPad, keyboard, ukulele, or Orff instruments as an aid, you will learn how to create the basic building blocks of a song – theme, melody, lyrics, rhythm, chord progressions and hooks – in a fun and interactive manner.
Vocal Mania
Nothing beats the instrument within you – your voice. Discover the joy of singing in groups using your mouth to create melodies, harmonies and rhythms too! Vocal Mania will equip you with basic singing techniques as well as vocal training where you will be taught basic points to improve both the quality and power of your voice. Explore our wide-ranging repertoire suitable for children including pop/contemporary songs, songs from different music styles – musical theatre/blues/jazz/rock and songs with different cultures & languages.
Jamming Keys
Jamming Keys is an introductory keyboard module to encourage you to pick up basic keyboard skills. The song styles include pop, rock, latin, reggae, funk, country and classical. It comes with backing tracks which make learning fun and easy. Opportunities for creativity will be incorporated in every lesson through platforms for improvisation and music arrangement. At the end of the workshop, you will see yourselves playing together in an ensemble with different ones playing different parts forming a pop orchestra!
Music Creation with IT

Creative Music & Movement
Using Orff Schulwerk, Dalcroze and Kodaly approach to elemental music education, Creative Music and Movement enables you to unleash your creativity and foster good teamwork through the concept of small ensemble playing. This module not only develops a strong sense of pulse in every learner, it also stretches your creativity by allowing you to explore and improvise with your body, voice and instruments.
Violin Edventure
Violin Edventure is an introductory module for beginners to inspire them to pick up the string instrument and learn more about the strings family in the Western Orchestra. You will be taken through fundamental violin playing techniques, through the learning journey, you will be intrigued with fun music that will appeal to you and make you grow to like classical and modern music styles. Backing tracks of different musical styles are used to accompany the violin playing. You will be exposed to Jazz, Rock, Classical and our local cultural music.
Music Around The World
Music Around The World is a fun learning experience that is not to be missed for all! From Mexican to African, Latin American to Asia, you don’t have to travel around the world to learn about music from other countries. Experience through songs and dance the various styles of music that has evolved from these countries. Through creative and interesting presentations and performances from the various genres of world music, you will also be exposed to the countries' culture and ethnic way of living.
Groovin' With Ukulele
Groovin’ with Ukulele is a foundational module if you want to excite your passion in ukulele learning even if you do not have prior music knowledge or experience. You will be guided through different playing techniques as well as learning to sing and play popular songs in a chord approach. You can also get to create a short jingle/composition of your own!
Groovin' With Guitars
Groovin’ with Guitars is a foundational module if you want to excite your passion in guitar learning even if you do not have prior music knowledge or experience. You will be guided through different playing techniques as well as learning to play popular songs in a chord approach. Besides singing and strumming to popular songs, folk and cultural songs, you can also get to create a short jingle/composition of your own!
Instrumental Ensemble
Instrumental Ensemble comprises of instrument playing that encourages team-bonding and cooperation. Instruments used in this module are unpitched percussion and pitched percussion including boomwhackers, handbells, handchimes, Angklung, and other Orff instruments (resonator bars / xylophones / metallophones / glockenspiel). Instruments such as guitar, ukulele and cajon may be included to give more depth to the ensemble experience and allow learners to appreciate the beautiful blending of melodic, harmonic and rhythmic instruments all in one ensemble!
